Scores for radical care is a collaboration between Maria Rutanen and dance artist Iiris Raipala. 

 

The scores for radical care and emphatic gaze is a project, which through touch based practice, contact improvisation, and performative work research the questions of how we can practice empathy and caring in the choreographing work?

 

Radical care is relational and it is personal. Touch bonds and touch separates. Touch is about caring and provoking, touch shows us collectivism and individualism in us. Through touch based practices we look at interconnectedness, care, collectivism and the body's autonomy and sovereignty. Touching provokes the questions as what does my body, my choice, my borders mean? What does collective body mean?
